The United Celebrant Network acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, live, play, learn and celebrate ceremony on. We come from diverse backgrounds and are grateful to call this beautiful country, Australia, our home. We honour and respect the deep, intrinsic connections that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to this land, and we appreciate the wisdom and culture they have nurtured over countless generations. We feel honoured to hear, and participate in any Aboriginal culture customs, traditions, stories and language asking any of our members who are willing or wanting to share this heritage to please reach out.

About
Hey hey, my Lovelies! My name is Georgina (when I answer the phone and when I’m in trouble), or when we get to know each other, Georgie!
I’m an old school romantic, pure and simple. But that doesn’t mean I’m stuffy and boring; don’t let the platinum blonde, George Clooney hair stripe fool you. I’m also a mum to 4 amazing boys so I’m also a sports watching, car loving, thongs (the shoe kind) and shorts wearing, North Queensland chick!
Ask my Husband and he will say that I cry at the drop of a hat; movies, tv shows, even ads. I’m a big emotional ball of fluff. But that just means that EVERY SINGLE ONE of my couples becomes like family to me. Yes, I will stalk you on socials after the ceremony is done – you can’t get rid of me that easy.
How did I become a celebrant? I never considered it until Husband suggested it. But I don’t want to give him too much credit.
While having a conversation about what we wanted to be when we grew up – mind you, we were in our 40’s #cough at the time, I considered a change of career and perhaps start my own business.
Many different careers were put on the table – bookkeeper, real estate agent, something to do with adult education – I mean I do have a Post Grad Degree in that so should probably use it somehow – but none however seemed quite right. I always had something on the go; sitting still is not in my nature. #cantwatchtvwithoutscrollingonmyphoneatthesametime
Hubby threw out, “what about a celebrant?”
It was completely random.
As my extended Family’s designated Public Speaker and that fact that I can often be found at night watching sappy movies and wedding dress reality shows #sayyestothedress on TV, it just seemed like a logical idea.
So, I pondered, and I researched, and I pondered and researched some more. And the decision was made.
Yes! This is for me.
After 12 months of study (yes it does that that long) I was registered as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant just as Covid hit in 2020. And, well wasn’t that a challenge!
But it cemented in me that I love my career – it’s not a job to me. Each one of my couples is a chance to meet new people, learn new stories, be part of someone’s story. Yeh, yeh, it’s a bit mushy but it’s the truth.
So here’s what you get when you pick me to be your celebrant.
My OCD and desperate need to be perfect; yes, that’s a good thing.
My relaxed, North Queensland vibe; I may drop a swear every now and then, but I will do my absolute bloody darndest to pick my moment.
I can also be more formal (with no swears); I will craft and deliver your ceremony to whatever vibe you want.
My 100% dedication and commitment that I will do everything I can to make sure that your ceremony runs according to plan; if I have to play defence between you and your Aunties, Uncles or even your new In-laws, I will.
I want to be part of your story; happy ever after starts here.
