The United Celebrant Network acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, live, play, and learn. We come from diverse backgrounds and are grateful to call this beautiful country, Australia, our home. We honour and respect the deep, intrinsic connections that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to this land, and we appreciate the wisdom and culture they have nurtured over countless generations. We feel honoured to hear, and participate in any Aboriginal culture customs, traditions, stories and language asking any of our members who are willing or wanting to share this heritage to please reach out.
My Story
I have lived and worked in Camden NSW for over 25 years, raising two children as a single parent and being an active member of the community. Always asked to speak at weddings and funerals, celebrancy seemed a natural profession for me to pursue.
Achievements and Contributions
In 2022 I became a celebrant and started my incredibly rewarding first year with only a naming ceremony and a few funerals. Two years on and I have married over fifty couples, and supported many families as they farewelled their loved ones or welcomed new family members. I have performed ceremonies in parks, gardens, backyards lakeside and function centres- but by far the most touching ceremony I have performed was in a palliative care unit for a family.
Personal Philosophy or Mission Statement
I like to find the humour in a story whether it be a love story or life story. I believe people are at their best when they are laughing. I also only know how to be myself, so that’s who I am and that’s who you get.
Fun facts about me
I am a dog mum- but secretly love the attitude of cats. I like walking, yoga and meditation. I am spiritual and I believe our loved one’s spirits travel with us. I learned to swim at 51 years old.
Vision for the Network
Within the network I hope to bring a sense of humour, but also a safe place for celebrants to ask for help, friendship, knowledge or support. I’m always up for a cuppa and a chat should be my motto.
Message to Members
My message to members would be that we are a group of talented celebrants each with our own specialties We are kind and professional. With us you get friendship, support, resources and most of all community over competition.
